Re: Elm Park
What about The Bank, is that just a food place, they were just opening it when we lived over that way.

Tap Room in Upminster worth the bus ride or even a walk via the parks

Re: Elm Park
The GI s been refurbed although I haven't been there in years as it did become said shit hole. Not many decent pubs in Elm Park have to go to Upminster for a decent bevy!

Re: Elm Park
My nan and grandad moved there from Plaistow. Their local was THE GOOD INTENT where the fighter pilots from RAF Hornchurch used to drink.

It’s probably changed a lot. Not been there for donkeys years.

As terry said look north and east of the station

Having moved 3 frigging times since 2015 I'm better than an estate agent for advice.

I would go out further.
Seems to be turning into an extension of Dagenham.
Was never the best but has gone massively downhill the last 10-15 years.
Would rather head out Rayleigh way.

Vexed - no, it burned down and there are now houses on the site.

Re: Elm Park
Elm park like other places in Havering is becoming overcrowded due to more people moving out of London.
Wouldn't move there myself although it's an improvement on newham or Hackney.

If I were you I'd contact the Australian Consulate, and ask them, very politely, if you can come back.

Re: Elm Park
I liked it. Just moved to Upminster after 18 years in Elm Park. There are certainly worse places to live that's for sure and great transport links,

HTH

Should probably change my user name now.

Re: Elm Park
Mother in law lives there. Absolute shit hole, was never great but has deteriorated drastically in the last 10 years. She lives on Rosewood Avenue where you walked.

When i drop her off after she’s been at ours I don’t even stop the car to kick her out.................mind you i’d do that to her anywhere!!!

Does the Astronaut pub still exist in Elm Park?

I seem to remember it as a fairly modern and stylish building, but I was way too young to be a customer.

Re: Elm Park
I used to live in South Hornchurch/Elm Park/North Rainham. Never had any issues for the 10 years I lived there.

Was outside the Elm Park Hotel a few years back with Mrs Dave at kicking out time, it was like some sort of Kung -Fu movie.

Hilarious to look at a load of drunk fat blokes all trying to kick each other up the arse.
